Why do women wear foundation eye liner mascara eye shadow eye liner blush lip liner lip stick lip gloss?

if i do wear makeup and that is rare...i wear a mineral poweder foundation..a little concealer to cover and blemishes and under eye circles... eye shadow OR liner..never both...mascara..usually black. and lip gloss..or lip stick.. but never both! and never liner..my lips are full but slightly uneven so liner always ends up making them look odd.





but most of the time..im bare faced with chap stick...i gots to keep my lips smooth...they get dry too easy.Why do women wear foundation eye liner mascara eye shadow eye liner blush lip liner lip stick lip gloss?

I'm guessing it's habit, societal pressure or they feel like they look good, or their workplace expects it.





I've never worn foundation, mascara, eye liner, lip liner or lip stick. Mascara made me break out in hives the only time I tried it. I use to try to wear eye shadow and lip gloss, but was always rubbing them off so stopped. I wore blush for a while when I worked in corporate america so i was wearing ';make-up'; but after a while, I just didn't care anymore.
Because they like to look pretty around us men!

Make up can be fun if you're into it! It can be something fun and creative. Granted, I certainly don't wear lipstick, lip liner, and lip gloss all at the same time. That would be way too much blending for me. Ha.
To make themselves more attractive to the opposite sex, obviously. And some do it to make other women jealous of their natural and in some cases, enhanced, beauty. The answer is obvious.
I don't know because I don't wear any makeup, never have in 42 years. My boyfriends have always commented to me that they like it because it doesn't feel like they are kissing a ';mask';, and they don't have to worry about smearing the lipstick. I just never got into wearing it, I tried a few times both when I was a teenager and an adult, but could never get the hang of it, it always looked fake on me, so I just dropped it. My mother only wears lipstick, and looks fantastic at 78.

It is a form of narcissism. Goes back to prehistory when men would paint themselves with woad or make wounds on their own bodies - the intention being to make themselves appear more attractive to women, more fearsome to their enemies. Eventually women were allowed to paint themselves too.





Of course nowadays it's all about multinationals making big bucks by exploiting women's vanity.
Make up makes a woman pretty not too much but its fine....
For the same reasons Cleopatra did - to improve their looks.


Sometimes through subtle advertising which convinces us that we are not well-groomed if we do not apply some make-up; and


Sometimes to attract the opposite sex.


Other times, it's just nice to play around and enjoy making up your face to create a new look for your own pleasure.
heck knows and im a woman ocsionly i wera mascara when goin out for meal and ocasionly lippy for my partner to notice me waste of time thou mite as well go starkers then hed only notice if sunone said sumthin.what is foundation all about anyway makes em a funny colour,eyeliners looks like you ave bk eyes apanda aah,blusher amkes you look like a garden gnome,lipgloss to amke ya lips shiny and kissable.het i say save ya money dont buy make up spendit on alchol for u and the bloke then hell take youb home anyway.inthe clubs everyone look good in the badlite.
Well, I wear eye shadow, blusher, mascara %26amp; lipstick, and I like wearing make up.





I think I have worn make up for so long now that it has just become habit (plus, the older you get , the more you need it!! :))

You should definitely see an ophthalmologist, a medical doctor who specializes in eye disorders, and ask which, if any, mascara is safe for you to use. Ophthalmologists are very accustomed to this question, they hear it every day! Follow the doctor's advice to the letter too. I actually started wearing makeup when I was 5.. BEFORE YOU ALL FREAK OUT. I wore makeup for DANCE recitals, I was a dancer so yeah I only wore makeup for shows.

I started in 8th grade. At first I just lined my waterline because I sucked at putting liner on my upper lash line.


But why does it look bad if you wear mascara? Almost every one wears it.

depends. i started wearing it in 5th grade. but i only ever put on a litlle bit of mascara, only becuz i had an older sister that did the same. live like a kid and dont wear it unless you absolutely need too. cuz before you know it, you're grown up and you HAVE to wear makeup.


but overall, wear makeup when YOU want to wear makeup, not becuz everyone else is.

There are three different mascaras that are supposed to do this. CoverGirl Exact Eyelights Mascara, Almay Intense I-Color Bring-out, and Almay Intense I-Color Play-up. All three of these are supposed to bring out your natural eye color. They are made for blue eyes, green eyes, hazel eyes, and brown eyes.

do not get the maybelline great lash one, it is terrible! clumpy, sticky, messy terrible lashed, i haven't tried the eyelights one but a few of my friends use and it and they really like it, i personally love lashblast by covergirl

You should go with the maybelline one because the covergirl mascara doesn't work and it's a waste of money.You could try the lash blast mascara by covergirl because that works better.

Does anyone know why Rimmel Londons ';Eye Magnifier'; mascara comes packaged with a top & the brush on the side?

I just bought Rimmel London's new ';Eye Magnifier'; mascara, but I don't know what I am suppose to do with the top that it comes with - do I throw it out? Or does it serve a purpose? The brush is separate, but after I use it for the first time do I not screw it back on to the rest of the mascara stick/container? I'm just confused cause I've never seen a mascara like this, and I don't understand why they would make it a separate top so you can just throw it away. If anyone knows what the purpose of this is and/or what I'm suppose to do with it, please let me know. Curler first then mascara. Use the curler on the ends of the lashes instead of the whole lashes for a curlier look. The reason you don't put on the mascara first is that if it dries, it can look clumpy and gross, and it is (I have heard) bad for the lashes too, it can bend them and make them look gross.





Think of it this way: do you brush hair before or after hairspray? If you brush it after hairspray, it usually looks helmetlike and kind of weird looking. You style it first, then spray it to keep it looking the same!
From what I read this is what I got...


1. Foundation, Concealer, or Powder (this helps with catching eyeshadow powder that fall onto your check, making clean up easier).


2. Eyebrow...if you need too.


3. Eyeshadow


4. Eyeliner


5. Mascara (and use the curler first, then mascara).


6. Blush


7. Lipstick or Lip Gloss
If you still need help you can contact a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant in your area. You will get a free facial and makeover, the best part is that you are taught how to apply everything. It's fun to do.
1st address the circles under your eyes using a concealer. You can then go over it with a pressed powder to even skin tone. Concealer can be used for other blimishes or dark spots. Then comes the eye shadow. How much and which colors will depend on personal preference and skin tone. After shadow is applied you can then curl lashes. After that you can apply mascara. I save eyeliner for last.





If you're not all that familiar with applying make up or if your just not comfortable, I recommend maybe hosting a Mary Kay (or something similar) party where you can have someone show you how to apply as well as play with different colors and products. If the party is not your thing try a nice department store that offers make up tips and application.
Curler than mascara. Because if the mascara dries then you curl, your eyelashes will look clumpy and gross and imagine the mess your gunna have to clean up on the curler. I use a curles and water-proof mascara so the curl doesnt straighten.

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:


Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water %26amp; stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath %26amp; let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K %26amp; Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

curler first, then mascara if you dont want your clumpy eyelashes to get caught onto the curler making some or a whole chunk (base on experience) of your eyelashes to be taken off :[ I go by shadow, eyeliner, (curler if needed, at the end of my eyelashes working the way in to the middle) then mascara :]
by the skin care book we use in esthetics school it goes shadow, eyeliner, then curler, then mascara....if you curl your lashes after applying mascara that can cause a lot of damage to your lashes...you want to make sure that you apply your makeup probably in as natural a way as possible, remember you are only trying to enhance your features. to cover dark circles on eyes, i usually use a dot of concealer under each eye, and a concealer brush to blend it in. you will do great. as long as you keep it simple you will do great. if you want tips you should watch carmendy on what not to wear and the 5 minute face...she is really simple, and yet beautiful...just like you will be. its great for mom's with little time.
Most girls have their moms teach them how to do makeup, but I never did so I went by guess and check. But what I do (and have done for a while) is this....





1. if you're doing more than eye makeup (like coverup), wait until after eyes are done, so if you get mascara on your skin, you don't wipe off your concealer.


2. apply the mascara first.


3. If you separate your eyelashes, do that next.


4. Curl after you apply mascara. They curl better when there's fresh mascara on the lashes.


5. Apply your eyeliner.


6. If you use eyeshadow, apply that next.


7. Continue on to anything else.
Curler then mascara :)


Great trick though, lemme tell ya!





Take a hairdryer to your curler for 30 seconds, then right to yoru eyelashes for 15 seconds. Apply the mascara as soon as you take the curler off. You wouldnt believe the difference it makes!





And to top it all off? Once the mascara is dried, apply it to the very tips of your lashes. This gives it an overall dramatic look.
