i am 17 and wear tons of mascara everyday. does this mean that by the time im 30 or older, i will have fefw eyelashes left?

I don't think so as long as you wash it off each day before you go to sleep. If you arent already using a sort of natural mascara, you could try that so it nourishes your lashes too. It does make your eyelashes more prone to falling out, but you grow new ones all the time. You may have fewer when you get older, but you'll still have plenty. But when you can, I'd take a break from it. If you're not really going to see anyone except maybe close friends one weekend, maybe you can take a break. I've found that my eyelashes are fuller if I take a break from mascara for a couple days.
I don't think it is possible to ruin your eyelashes. Even though, when you were a lot of mascara it makes your eyelashes have more to carry so they wont go up as much as if you wear a little. And no worry, you grow eyelashes all the time! It is good to have a break from wearing heavy mascara. it will make your eyelashes more prettier if you do that to!
if you remove it well before you go to bed it can't harm you, i dont think. if you're worried, then i would reccomend the natural collection. it's not as good as other brands, but it is quite cheap so you can afford to use loads and it's all natural, so you dont have to worry about ruining your eyelashes.
My friends mother was wearing mascara since she was about 12 and now she's about 60 and she practically has no eyelashes. If you don't wear it everyday and you don't wear a ton, not a lot of damage will be done.

How can i stop my mascara do smudge underneath my eye at the end of the day?
I already use waterproof mascara but when i get home at 3:30 its smudged underneath my eyes!!! Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!How can i stop my mascara do smudge underneath my eye at the end of the day?
Liquid mascara...
What I do..is put my finger right beside my eye, and blink.
The finger gets the mascara that would normally come off...but still leaves enough on there to make your eyes beautiful as always.
Maybe try a new mascara.
Maybelline has some great ones..

you can stop using it and just use an eyelash curler, or you can just put the mascara on the very tips of the lash so it doesnt touch your lid. dont put mascara on your bottom lashes. you can also use a tissue to wipe down the mascara wand so it doesnt have too much extra stuff on it before you use it. the less you use, the better. i wear mascara every day and that never happens :P

It should be okay as long as you aren't letting them dry in between, that would make it all clumpy. An even better method than coats is to wiggle the brush at the base of your lashes and make a smooth sweeping motion upwards to the ends. This will give a nice thick base while separating the lashes and a smooth application all the way up to the ends.
I put on about two coats, usually. Particularly because I don't have much eyelashes, and because the mascara that I use is old and chunky. So I usually put two coats to make sure.
Three coats of mascara might be too much if you have eyelash extensions.
I only use one because, depending on the mascara, if you put on more than one coat it can look unnatural or clumpy.
but i know a lot of people that use 2..and, if you have the right mascara, it should look fine.

For long big lashes: Estee Lauder Double Wear Zero Smudge Lengthening Mascara.
Also try lash primer!

Take the brush out of the mascara, and wipe most of the mascara off of it with a tissue until there is barely any on the brush that is visible.

Well, it would suck if you lost your eyelashes....but I've been leaving my masacara and eyeliner AND eyeshadow on for years because I forget to wash it off. Nothing has ever happened to me. I just rub it all into my eyes in the morning and it gets all over my hands and face. Then I look like a raccoon and my dad makes fun of me lol. Okay, so it doesn't cause pimples. But it does sprinkle age-spots on your eye area, and I don't know of many who would want that. And as for eyelashes, yes, they grow back, but they will grow back damaged and brittle and delicate forever. And if you do it too often, it won't grow back. Seriously. So don't be lazy and pull out the makeup remover.
Its a good idea to start a ritual of removing all your make-up and washing your face with a good cleanser then moisturizing every night before bed..
Reason is .. You might not notice now but as you get older.. this will keep your skin glowing and healthier...
And even tho you are tired.. try to take the time removing the mascara.. just so you look refreshed in the morning and not all smeared from that stuff.. :)

yes, the mascara flakes can get into your eyes and start to scratch and irritate your eyes. it may look better in the morning to have that dark eyeliner smudged look, but trust me, its way better to just smudge the eyeliner yourself than to sleep with makeup on
It's not going to cause pimples, OR make your eyelashes fall off, though it will dry your lashes and make them icky feeling. Besides that, you can get eye infections really easily by having the eyeliner/mascara come into contact with your eye. For a simple, easy way to remove makeup at night, I'd suggest the Maybelline eye makeup remover; but the one WITHOUT the oil. The one with oil is for waterproof makeup, and if you don't have waterproof makeup on, it just makes your eyes look greasy and feel weird... the one in the blue bottle works much better! Just put a little bit of it onto a kleenex and wipe your eyes. It works like a charm! Hope this helped! :]
eye liner wont likely cause any damage, but leaving mascara on causes your eye lashes to become brittle, you don't ever want to lose lashes! Remove it at night with a good quality eye makeup remover.
it's not as bad as leaving foundation on overnight. when i was a heavy drinker, i would keep those ponds makeup remover towelettes on my nightstand, so i could drunkenly get all the makeup off my face without having to deal with the sink and all that stuff. they're the best-better than mac, lancome, etc.. good for sensitive eyes and skin.

Keeping make-up on overnight, clogs your pores making it hard for you skin to breathe. Also, I find that if I wear mascara and eyeliner overnight, it's harder for me to get it off in the morning. Okay, so it doesn't cause pimples. But it does sprinkle age-spots on your eye area, and I don't know of many who would want that. And as for eyelashes, yes, they grow back, but they will grow back damaged and brittle and delicate forever. And if you do it too often, it won't grow back. Seriously. So don't be lazy and pull out the makeup remover.
Its a good idea to start a ritual of removing all your make-up and washing your face with a good cleanser then moisturizing every night before bed..
Reason is .. You might not notice now but as you get older.. this will keep your skin glowing and healthier...

It's not going to cause pimples, OR make your eyelashes fall off, though it will dry your lashes and make them icky feeling. Besides that, you can get eye infections really easily by having the eyeliner/mascara come into contact with your eye. For a simple, easy way to remove makeup at night, I'd suggest the Maybelline eye makeup remover; but the one WITHOUT the oil. The one with oil is for waterproof makeup, and if you don't have waterproof makeup on, it just makes your eyes look greasy and feel weird... the one in the blue bottle works much better! Just put a little bit of it onto a kleenex and wipe your eyes. It works like a charm! Hope this helped! :]

it's not as bad as leaving foundation on overnight. when i was a heavy drinker, i would keep those ponds makeup remover towelettes on my nightstand, so i could drunkenly get all the makeup off my face without having to deal with the sink and all that stuff. they're the best-better than mac, lancome, etc.. good for sensitive eyes and skin.

you can stop using it and just use an eyelash curler, or you can just put the mascara on the very tips of the lash so it doesnt touch your lid. dont put mascara on your bottom lashes. you can also use a tissue to wipe down the mascara wand so it doesnt have too much extra stuff on it before you use it. the less you use, the better. i wear mascara every day and that never happens :P

It should be okay as long as you aren't letting them dry in between, that would make it all clumpy. An even better method than coats is to wiggle the brush at the base of your lashes and make a smooth sweeping motion upwards to the ends. This will give a nice thick base while separating the lashes and a smooth application all the way up to the ends.
I put on about two coats, usually. Particularly because I don't have much eyelashes, and because the mascara that I use is old and chunky. So I usually put two coats to make sure.

Ive just started using diorshow mascara and i like it. But for eyeshadows and eyeliners you definitely have to use MAC they have the best variety and their eyeliners are really cool. Actually any mac user will tell you the eyeshadows are the best. After i posted my answer i saw all the other ones....see mac shadows are great, majority rules...hahaha

Well, it would suck if you lost your eyelashes....but I've been leaving my masacara and eyeliner AND eyeshadow on for years because I forget to wash it off. Nothing has ever happened to me. I just rub it all into my eyes in the morning and it gets all over my hands and face. Then I look like a raccoon and my dad makes fun of me lol. Okay, so it doesn't cause pimples. But it does sprinkle age-spots on your eye area, and I don't know of many who would want that. And as for eyelashes, yes, they grow back, but they will grow back damaged and brittle and delicate forever. And if you do it too often, it won't grow back. Seriously. So don't be lazy and pull out the makeup remover.
Its a good idea to start a ritual of removing all your make-up and washing your face with a good cleanser then moisturizing every night before bed..
Reason is .. You might not notice now but as you get older.. this will keep your skin glowing and healthier...
And even tho you are tired.. try to take the time removing the mascara.. just so you look refreshed in the morning and not all smeared from that stuff.. :)

yes, the mascara flakes can get into your eyes and start to scratch and irritate your eyes. it may look better in the morning to have that dark eyeliner smudged look, but trust me, its way better to just smudge the eyeliner yourself than to sleep with makeup on
It's not going to cause pimples, OR make your eyelashes fall off, though it will dry your lashes and make them icky feeling. Besides that, you can get eye infections really easily by having the eyeliner/mascara come into contact with your eye. For a simple, easy way to remove makeup at night, I'd suggest the Maybelline eye makeup remover; but the one WITHOUT the oil. The one with oil is for waterproof makeup, and if you don't have waterproof makeup on, it just makes your eyes look greasy and feel weird... the one in the blue bottle works much better! Just put a little bit of it onto a kleenex and wipe your eyes. It works like a charm! Hope this helped! :]
eye liner wont likely cause any damage, but leaving mascara on causes your eye lashes to become brittle, you don't ever want to lose lashes! Remove it at night with a good quality eye makeup remover.
it's not as bad as leaving foundation on overnight. when i was a heavy drinker, i would keep those ponds makeup remover towelettes on my nightstand, so i could drunkenly get all the makeup off my face without having to deal with the sink and all that stuff. they're the best-better than mac, lancome, etc.. good for sensitive eyes and skin.

Keeping make-up on overnight, clogs your pores making it hard for you skin to breathe. Also, I find that if I wear mascara and eyeliner overnight, it's harder for me to get it off in the morning. What I use is Ponds clean sweep ( I think that's what it's called) and the product provides you with mosturizing wipes that get rid of all forms of make-up. The formula that Ponds use cleans your pores and leaves you skin feeling soft and clean.

I never used to remove mine overnight and I never had any problems. Everybody's skin and hair are different and have different tolerances. If it's not good for you, you'll find out quickly enough.
mascara will dry your eye lashes so you want to take it off every night so they don't get brittle and break. I'd suggest taking eye liner off too. There have been times when I'd wake up with red, puffy, and sore eyes when I've slept in liner.

Okay, so it doesn't cause pimples. But it does sprinkle age-spots on your eye area, and I don't know of many who would want that. And as for eyelashes, yes, they grow back, but they will grow back damaged and brittle and delicate forever. And if you do it too often, it won't grow back. Seriously. So don't be lazy and pull out the makeup remover.
Its a good idea to start a ritual of removing all your make-up and washing your face with a good cleanser then moisturizing every night before bed..
Reason is .. You might not notice now but as you get older.. this will keep your skin glowing and healthier...

yes, the mascara flakes can get into your eyes and start to scratch and irritate your eyes. it may look better in the morning to have that dark eyeliner smudged look, but trust me, its way better to just smudge the eyeliner yourself than to sleep with makeup on
It's not going to cause pimples, OR make your eyelashes fall off, though it will dry your lashes and make them icky feeling. Besides that, you can get eye infections really easily by having the eyeliner/mascara come into contact with your eye. For a simple, easy way to remove makeup at night, I'd suggest the Maybelline eye makeup remover; but the one WITHOUT the oil. The one with oil is for waterproof makeup, and if you don't have waterproof makeup on, it just makes your eyes look greasy and feel weird... the one in the blue bottle works much better! Just put a little bit of it onto a kleenex and wipe your eyes. It works like a charm! Hope this helped! :]

it's not as bad as leaving foundation on overnight. when i was a heavy drinker, i would keep those ponds makeup remover towelettes on my nightstand, so i could drunkenly get all the makeup off my face without having to deal with the sink and all that stuff. they're the best-better than mac, lancome, etc.. good for sensitive eyes and skin.

Keeping make-up on overnight, clogs your pores making it hard for you skin to breathe. Also, I find that if I wear mascara and eyeliner overnight, it's harder for me to get it off in the morning. What I use is Ponds clean sweep ( I think that's what it's called) and the product provides you with mosturizing wipes that get rid of all forms of make-up. The formula that Ponds use cleans your pores and leaves you skin feeling soft and clean.

mascara will dry your eye lashes so you want to take it off every night so they don't get brittle and break. I'd suggest taking eye liner off too. There have been times when I'd wake up with red, puffy, and sore eyes when I've slept in liner.

you can stop using it and just use an eyelash curler, or you can just put the mascara on the very tips of the lash so it doesnt touch your lid. dont put mascara on your bottom lashes. you can also use a tissue to wipe down the mascara wand so it doesnt have too much extra stuff on it before you use it. the less you use, the better. i wear mascara every day and that never happens :P

there was some one eye lash going into my eye, so i got a Moustache comb and combed my eye lashes but not button eye lashes it did not do much. So i got my mums mascara brush with nothing on it and comb it up. i use lash blast mascara also. it works wonders. as for eyeshadow, you should use a green or brown. They would really bring out your eyes. hope i helped. :]
I use a Collection 2000 mascara called Eye Me Up which is pretty good. It separates your lashes out well too.

i use lash blast mascara also. it works wonders. as for eyeshadow, you should use a green or brown. They would really bring out your eyes. hope i helped. :]

Also, I heard of situations where girls that wear contacts had gotten eye infections because the makeup would get trapped in the lens causing bacteria to stay in the eye for a longer period of time since they were wearing contacts. To prevent this, you should ask your eye doctor and make sure that you clean your eye makeup off regularly.

What Mascara would suit my eye lash type?
I have quite long eyelashes, and cause they are so long they seem to 'droop' and won't curl up, if I use an eyelash curler or anything... The lashes also seem to 'clump' together when I put mascara on them, even trying to seperate them with one of them comb things doesn't work...
I've tryed may different masacaras, different brands etc... Is there a particular one I should go for next time I buy a new one? Thanks.What Mascara would suit my eye lash type?
I have similar eyelashes. The best I have found is No 7 Stay Perfect. It is not a waterproof but does not smudge at all and it goes on a dream - no clumping or beading.
It doesn't advertsise itself as volumizing or anything but it does makes my lashes look thick and defined.
I've tried quite a few more expensive ones and this is the best.What Mascara would suit my eye lash type?
hey i have the exact same kind of eyelashes,
mine clump when i put mascara on aswell, and they're really long so dont curl very well.
What I do is either, use clear mascara, i have black/very dark brown eyelashes so its ok. Clear mascara is like my lifesaver it looks really natural aswell, but if you have lighter eyelashes then i wouldnt reccomend it, unless you dont want black eyelashes.
or it sounds a bit unlikely, but the best mascara (voted by the best mascara by closer magazine, and also i tried it because of the article about it) is one from asda, it's pink casing, and it's actually really good quality, the brush is reallygood aswell, i would reccomend it!!
Also, if you wanted to use a regular mascara, i know you said it didnt work, but if you got an eyelash comb and start right at the bottom so next to your eye and comb upwards, it does work!!

It costs about $5.99, and it really lifts your lashes giving you a nice curl so that you don't have to use a lash curler at all. When this mascara starts getting old, itt does tend to clump, but you can use it for about 3 weeks before you'll see the clumps. Good luck!
I would try the eyelash curler again. Start at the base of your lashes and press down, move the curler out a tiny bit and press down again. Do this until you are at the end of your lashes. When you apply mascara make sure to clean of the brush on the side of the bottle before you apply it. I also like the lash blast by covergirl but you may want to try the maybeline...not sure what it's called- green top pink bottom,it's thinner and probably won't clump as much. Good luck!

I have the same problem. Don't use a curler. They don't work on long-lashed people. They are meant specifically for peopel with shorter lashes.
I suggest maybelline's Great Lash. I really love it. It clumps a LITTLE but you get used to it and once you get used to it, it works great.

Have you tried Great Lash? That's my brand. I curl my eyelashes then put on a somewhat dried out mascara first. That way the curl will stay. Then you can start to put on the wet mascara little by little.
DON'T TRIM YOUR EYELASHES!!! Estee lauder do a fab curling mascara called illusionist intense, it is not clumpy and really does open your eyes up. It is 拢17 but really worth the money.

if they say you look weird with it on, ask them why? is it the color or how your doing it? but anyway, you can be beautiful without eyeliner.
I didn't start wearing eyeliner and mascara till I was 16 or 17, I think wearing it any younger is to young. You should just experiment with shadows and lip glosses right now, the other stuff would look to over done at your age.

I never used mascara because I already have really long eyelashes so I only curled them :)
i started wearing it at 14... its normal to think it looks weird at first but you get used to it a realize when worn right it can play up your features very well
wear eyeliner if you want. if it looks good on you, go for it. maybe your friends are just jealous.

Replace the mascara you had at the time of the conjunctivitis and replace eye makeup every 4-6 months, sooner if the wand has touched the eye by mistake. Start using the new makeup one week after your treatment has been completed and your symptoms are completely resolved.How soon can i start wearing mascara again after an eye infection?
I'd assume you've been to a doctor and had it diagnosed and probably had some treatment. I'd advise throwing the old make up away as that will have any bugs on it and you'll reinfect yourself. I'd go for at least a week after the symptoms have cleared and you've finished treatment before wearing make up.
Throw your old ones away as they may re-infect you. Buy new ones x2 mark 1 left +1 right and wait a few days then use the new ones,
on the appropriate eye. the brushes must be kept clean and only used on one side so that you will not get a cross infection.myspace top

the gold revlon eyelash curler with a spring. i've had it for about 4 years and i just keep buying replacement inserts for it.
it works really well and they stay curled until you wash your face! i think the spring helps because i haven't had any significant eyelash fallout since i started using it.
its a bit pricey but its one of the best out there

I use a lot of mascara and have tried a lot of brands. A lot of them are garbage. Ive settled in to using Maybelline volumizing. It's one of the least expensive available. I like it for that reason and because 2 coats gives that thick-lash look. One coat is good for a more natural look.
Mascara is one thing that I replace every couple of weeks. Since I replace it so often I use mostly drug-store brands (though I do love the Shiseido Makeup Mascara Base)
Maybelline is my favorite brand. Currently, I have been using the define-a-lash. Also, the lash stylist is great if you want a more dramatic look.
Also, I have just been clued in about a wonderful little tool you can get at target. Its a lash brush by Sonia Kashuk that has a metal comb.
I use Shiseido mascara. Lancome works for me as well.
