How many coats of mascara do you put on each eye? Is 2-3 too many?

I was just wondering cause I usually put on like 2 or 3 coats, that's not too many right? How many coats of mascara do you put on each eye? Is 2-3 too many?

It should be okay as long as you aren't letting them dry in between, that would make it all clumpy. An even better method than coats is to wiggle the brush at the base of your lashes and make a smooth sweeping motion upwards to the ends. This will give a nice thick base while separating the lashes and a smooth application all the way up to the ends.
I put on about two coats, usually. Particularly because I don't have much eyelashes, and because the mascara that I use is old and chunky. So I usually put two coats to make sure.





Three coats of mascara might be too much if you have eyelash extensions.
I only use one because, depending on the mascara, if you put on more than one coat it can look unnatural or clumpy.


but i know a lot of people that use 2..and, if you have the right mascara, it should look fine.

The amount is usually determinded by the color of your lashes. I have blonde lashes and have to put several coats on to darken and lengthen them. If you have dark lashes then apply however many coats it takes to make your lashes stand out.

you wait five minutes so it completely dries


then you put on the second coat.

depends on whether you want your eye lashes to look like eyes lashes or sticks stuck to your eyes. 2 coats should be enough, start with a very light coating then once that has dried apply another coat, too much is ugly and makes your eyes look smaller.
I usually put 2 coats, but i but the first coat only to the roots. The second goat goes usually. When you do that your lashes look really long and it looks really natural.
well it depends how much is on the brush and or the mascara.

if you find the right mascara, only one... i use one and only rarely two... just make sure when you put a new coat on, DON'T let the previous coat dry, then you get clumps
2 coats is about right. Depends on the quality of the mascara though.

1 is good but 2 is okay too. just make sure you put the second coat on quickly before the first dries or you'll have big clumps
